Santiago Law offers a varied spectrum of legal services that range from Real Estate, Family Law, Corporate and Business Law, Wills, Powers of Attorney and Affidavits, and all aspects of Philippine law. Douglas Valenci Santiago acquired knowledge and skills for these services as a student of law and as a practicing lawyer not only here in Canada but also in the Philippines for over 20 years.
Mr. Santiago was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Law Society of Ontario in 2014. He obtained an articling position as student of law at the Law Firm of Ralph Michael Levine in Toronto, Ontario, practicing in Real Estate, Wills, Power of Attorney and Commercial Law. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1996. He has a Master's Degree in Philosophy (Candidate) with a grade of Summa Cum Laude at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila in 1991. He also finished his Bachelor's Degree in Theology at the University of Santo Thomas, Manila in 1991 (Cum laude) and Bachelor's Degree in AB Philosophy (Magna Cum laude) in 1988. He was a former member of the International Law Association (United Kingdom) and International Law Association (Philippine Chapter).
In 1996 until January 1999, he worked as Corporate Counsel with the concurrent duties of a Corporate Secretary.
In the early part of 1999, Mr. Santiago, who then wanted to pursue his interest in other fields of law formed a Professional Law Partnership named Santiago Agbayani & Quimboy Law Office and later, Santiago Agbayani & Talao Law Office, with his former classmates at San Beda College of Law.
Mr. Santiago also used to be involved in the academe. In 1991-1994, he taught Logic and Philosophy at Centro Escolar University and College of the Holy Spirit, Mendiola, Manila. In 1997, he taught Business and Tax laws at the Colegio De San Juan De Letran, Manila, Philippines and also at the College of St. Benilde, Dela Salle University (until 2003), Manila.
From 1999 up to July 2012, Mr. Santiago, as Managing Partner of the Santiago Agbayani and Talao Law Office, expanded his scope of law practice, venturing into Civil and Criminal Law, Mass Media and Telecommunications Law, Energy Law, Probate and Real Estate Law, Family Law and Election Law.
